About Cody
Born and raised in Cypress, TX, Cody Taylor grew up listening and singing along to what he calls “real country music”. Legends like Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Bush, Keith Whitley, Gary P. Nunn, and many other great artists alike, have influenced both his songwriting and love for the genre. Cody has written 40+ songs since he first learned guitar in 2021, when he began chasing his dream of being a country music artist.
On the upcoming release of his first full band E.P. named after the 1st track, “Hole In The Wall”, you will hear 2 songs that Cody hopes will take you back to a time “when country music was country”. Including fiddle and steel guitar, he wanted to make sure that this E.P. would “plant his boots” in country music. While writing both the title track “Hole In The Wall”, and the 2nd featured track “Take My Own Advice” in only 30 minutes, Cody claims these 2 songs are “ready for the honky tonks”.
When Cody's not on stage, he spends his time working towards his goal of one day headlining venues like Gruene Hall, Luckenbach Texas, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. But the one thing Cody wishes most for his journey, is to bring country music back to it's roots. Cody is a passionate and driven young artist, and you are guaranteed to enjoy his live performance.
